Brand Maven

About this Position
A Brand Maven (BM) is the client’s primary point of contact. As such, you must exhibit client service skills that enhance the project’s workflow and results, while leading your team to work towards 100% client satisfaction.

We need you to be the client’s strategic partner. That means you will:

  • Develop a solid understanding of the brand’s strategic goals and issues

  • Proactively seek out and propose innovative solutions

  • Understand the therapeutic area and the competitive landscape

  • Develop and manage project briefs, estimates and scope of work

  • Be the client’s primary point of contact

  • Lead the client management team in developing and maintaining an excellent client relationship

  • Ensure materials are completed on time

As a BM, you lead the content creation process. In this capacity, you will:

  • Ensure all deliverables are strategically aligned to the brand strategy and the client’s vision

  • Make sure projects are being tracked in our project management platform, remain organized and free of ambiguity

  • Be accountable to ensure PAAB negotiations support the best possible outcomes for the client, based on the project’s objectives

  • Provide detailed direction to agency medical writers and ensure the agency design team understands project objectives

  • Take on the copywriter role when appropriate, including research and copy development

  • Lead the team in taking accountability for quality control

  • Manage timelines to ensure projects are developed and reviewed in a timely manner


A BM supports the Maven team. As a team leader, you will:

  • Support the ABMs by providing assistance with, and feedback & coaching on:

    • Preparing requested content changes from the client and regulatory reviewers

    • Preparing and leading weekly status update calls with clients

    • Managing manufacturer and PAAB/ASC administrative tasks; you may occasionally be responsible for helping to complete these tasks from time to time, depending on available resourcing and project timelines

  • Proactively update the team on key learnings (e.g., from PAAB), through live team meetings and by updating Maven’s internal wiki

  • Work collaboratively with other BMs to review upcoming work, prioritize projects, and assign tasks to either internal or external resources accordingly

  • Assist the senior team with developing and presenting potential RFP opportunities


University science degree

A minimum of 4 years of pharmaceutical marketing experience or 5-10 years of client service experience in a health care-oriented agency or similar work setting

  • Our BMs assist in areas outside their core responsibilities and competencies. For example, you will often develop copy content or make design changes yourself, when the situation is appropriate. This helps us be more efficient in getting things done in a timely manner.
